For basic facts boxes I done speed demon for multiplication and division.I got no answers wrong and my time was 7 minutes and 44 seconds.I nearly got 1 answer worn because I didn't read the question until I saw the question.

For SSR Selfie I was reading a book about what would you rather have or what would you prefer. It gives you questions like would you rather chocolate or Vanilla? It gives you topics like food or many other things.

(WIP) Writing

LI: To create an advert using knowledge and skills we have learnt.

This week for writing we had to make an ad. Our product that we had to advertise was a thneed from the Lorax. We used our knowledge of what other advertisements have and applied them on ours. We had to make this advertisement in a group. In my group there was Xavier Te Raumati and David.This is a (WIP)/ Work in progress because my groups print advert is not finished.

Faulty Reasoning/Reading WIP

LI.To understand Faulty Reasoning
This week for reading we had being learning about faulty reasoning, faulty reasoning is about giving a reason which didn’t strongly convince another side of their argument. We had 7 tasks to do. For the first slide we had to for the text boxes that has being written to the right box which is definition and example. For the second slide we had to put a, b, c, d, or e, in the sentences 1-12. For the third slide we had just put the the example, and the faulty reasoning was written. For the Forth to the seventh slide we had to read three paragraphs and put them in the right box.

Swimming

LI.To learn water safety
Livvy's group started of with streamline but doing small kicks.
Then we were doing rotations with a board using strokes while we are doing rotations at the same time. Next we were doing stokes with a board then trying to do stokes without a board.
After we were diving for toys to get use to putting our heads under the water.

Maths

LI.To look after money and earn money

This beautiful piece of art is a geometric landscape.

The art uses triangles for the mountains and uses a circle for the moon.

My height is 20 and my width was 33 the area I got to use was 666cm.

We learnt how to face our challenges and experience them .
We looked at 3 different types of challenges and wrote how we feel and how we can complete them when we face those 3 challenges. We figured out coping strategies in groups of 3.

For SSR selfie I read the rest of the book about Exploring the moon. Did you know that the moon is bigger than the earth.  The earth is one of the most important things in the world because with he just have sun we will get to hot and plants can die without coldness and water.

Maths (WIP)

This week we are now working on our art. I have a WIP (Work in progress) geometric art. I first measured the paper and started colouring. The reason why I chose the geometric landscapes is because its made up out of shapes. My width was 30cm and my height was 20cm.

Advertising 3.0

LI: to learn about persuasive tools in advertising
Advertising is a media to show a product for company's to sell products or to borrow. 
In advertisements they use persuasive tools to persuade people to buy or use the product or something they can borrow. This week we were talking about television advertising and more on celebrity endorsements. We first had a slide on trying to find NZ celebrity endorsements. We then had to analyse the ad and answer some questions. We had to watch the ad, then answer questions like who is the author, what are the techniques used to attract and hold the audiences attention and more. We then had to find our own ad and do the same thing. 

Reading

LI: to synthesise information for the CRAAP test.
CRAAP stands for Currency, Relevancy, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose. 
We had a persuasive speech on a topic. My topic was about to much technology and why we should have less time on electronics. We had to write down our prior knowledge down on the synthesize poster about what we already know about the topic. We then had to fill in a QAR poster. We had a bunch of questions about the book, we had to answer the questions but also place where the type of question is. Next we had to finish off our synthesize poster by filling out the new information and new understanding. Lastly we had to write down a script for our Flipgrid, and in our script we had to say if we agree or disagree.

Swimming

LI.To learn how to freestyle in swimming 

In Kianos group we were doing free style with a board and then we had to rotate on to our back after three strokes. After we did back strokes but then we had to rotate half way. Then we were doing other things like stream line and streamline with kicking at the end. 

Kiwi Can

LI.To deal with challenges
We need to practice dealing with challenges to deal with them in the future. 
We did a Bus Stop activity. We had to explain the challenges with the pictures and then we got to take a turn at describing other pictures.

Jamie Wall /Duffy Assembly

For Duffy assembly a special guest called Jamie Wall came to our Duffy assembly to talk about how he got his job and what he does for his job. Jamie Walls Job is to write about every All Blacks game. Jamie Wall has written for Maori Television,Radio NZ,News Hub and Stuff. He also gets paid by Maori Television to go to every all blacks game. When he was younger he was given a book about men in black. One day he was given a survey about the All Blacks and he had got all questions correct so he was given a chance to write about warriors and all Blacks. He has made a book about Brothers in black.It is about brothers in the All Blacks.Jamie Walls book is the most sold book in NZ.Jamie Wall has been to 12 different countries for All Blacks games like France,Rome,Japan,Argentina,Ireland,England and Australia.

Reading (WIP)

LI.To separate fact from opinion
For reading we had to read about pointless P:E.I think that if students or people don't learn anything from Physical education or they don't get fit and waste time it shouldn't be in school or work time if sports time is going to be wasted. One student in Australia has low numeracy skills because time has been wasted.


 

Inquiry

LI.To learn about simple machines
For inquiry we were experiencing the Archimedes screw. The Archimedes screw transports water from a flat surface up to a steep hill.The Archimedes screw is made out of a tube and many other materials.

 

Advertising 2.0

LI. To learn about the persuasive tools in Advertising

For writing we had to make 3 slogans for our PBS. One of our slogans were " be better than before with PBS. We also watched videos to find out what food and drinks look like in advertisement what it looks like in reality. Did you know to make beer in adverts they use dish washing liquid for the bubbles in the beer to make it looks realistic. 

Maths

LI.To measure length and calculate perimeter and area.
First we learned about measurement.Then we had to find out what is perimeter and area. Area is the space and perimeter is the outside of the shape. We did that so we know how to measurement.
Next we had to do art.The art I did was 3d shadings.This one was a practice one.We do the practice first and then we can do the real art.The elements we could use were crayon,pastel,pencil and other elements.

Cybersmart

 L.I to apply the print design rules.                                                                                                            
We were learning about the print design rules and we have to make a poster look pretty using the print design rules. We used the poster that we used for inquiry to make it look pretty. We had to pick one of the simple machines that we had made and make it look pretty.

Kiwi Can

LI.To understand what challenges are

For kiwi can we were talking about what challenges are and what some challenges are. Like learning how to swim and float and facing your fears.  Then we were doing a energizer. Our energizer was commands. The 7 commands were 

• Jump in & Jump out 
• Turn around 
• touch the ground 
• Jump up & and down 
• Look Up & down 

After we were doing a challenge to make a lowercase T shape using random shapes. There were 2 upside down triangles and 2 email pictures.
