Visualising

Visualising is drawing an image, map, Mind map, or inforgrapic about text that is difficult to understand.

To Visualise a difficult sentence, break it up into parts and then draw each part. If there are any words that are unknown they should be looked up in a childeren's dictonary. Childeren's are best suited for young learners.

Visualising is a good way to easly understand difficult texts.

Kiwi Can

LI.To listen to what other people are saying to you
For Kiwi Can our topic was leadership. Leadership is when your are taking responibilty to others. Bad leaders are people who don't take reponsilbity or take ideas that are given to you. A good leader is someone who takes responibility of you and takes ideas that other give to you. To practise listening we played a game called Chinese whispers. Chinese whispers is a game where someone who whispers a word to one person to the other then the end person has to say the right word or sentence.

Basic Facts Boxes

This week for basic facts boxes I did speed demon up to 10 on times tables. I got all of of the times table equations correct. My time was 5 minutes and 1 seconds. I think I could improve more on my time. My next time goal is going to be under 4 minutes and 50 seconds

Maths | My thinkbaords

For maths I did my thinkbaords. For the think baords I had to make q a number line on how I solved 38 + 50. I then also had to make a story problem. My story problem was : I have 108 dummies then siale came and took 73 of my dummies now how much dummies do I have left? Then we had to solve how I did 38 + 50 = 88.
I solved this equation by by taking away the 8 and added the 30 and the 50 wich makes 80 then I add on the 8 so that makes 88. Then we practised simple addition.

Inquiry | Kupe & Cook

LI. Early Exploration
Kupe and cook are 2 important explorers in New Zealand's history.

Kupe is inportant to New Zealand's history becuase he was the first one to arrive and find New Zealand in the 1100's. He traveled to New Zealand by tradinonal methods on a traditional ship. The myth for kupe finding New Zealand is that he found New Zealnd by hunting down a giant octpus. He did this voyage to find new land for his people to live on and have a fresh start. His wife named Aoteroa after seeing mountins under the clouds.

Cook is also important to New Zealand becuase he was the first person to map New Zealand so he could open up New Zealand and give access to other country's for them to start a new life in New Zealand. He and his voayger from Tahiti travled to by a HMS Endeavour. The HMS Endeavour was weponaised and larger than other tradtional ships. Unfortuentaly he died in Hawaii by getting stabbed.

A simple sentence can be made by following steps that consider the actor, action, and description.

Exporers and Adventures

Explorers and adventures are people who travel the world and discover new things.

Explorers are people who travel to find new things and record them for the comunity. Such as Kupe, Christopher Columbus and Zheng He. Christopher colbumuswas a italian exploerer and colinizer who completed 4 voyages across the atlantic ocean.

Adventures are people who travel to take part in something for themselves. Such as Sir David Attenbourgh and Bear Grylls. I think that they are advenurers becuase Sir David Attenbourgh is a braodcaster and adventures though jungles and rain forests and bear grylls is a instuctor that teaches you how to survive.

Explorers and adventurers need to have or show many diffrent attitudes and attirubutes. Such as being a risk taker, Co - opreative and being creative.

The reason why you need these skills and many more is becuase if you don't take risks you won't be able to concure your fear and being creative gives us opportunities to try out new ideas, and new ways of thinking and problem-solving and being Co - opreative is really important because if you do everything by yourself you won't get it done fast in of.

Both Explorers and adventurers travel to new places and need similar qualites altough there goals are diffrent.
