First Waka

Origanily there were no people in New Zealand. The first people to settle  in New Zealand came in a series of waka. 

The first ten waka were named Kurahaupō,Tākitimu, Mataatua, Tainui, Ārai-te-uru, Te Arawa, Aotea, Tokomaru , Horouta and Uruao.

Most of the waka visted and landed at the North Island. Some places they landed at were Kaipara Harbour
Hawaiki and Shag Point.



The ten waka came to New Zealand to discover new lands for people to live.
