LI.To measure capacity of containers.
For maths we had to measure the capacity of the containers then we had to write the answer for the capacity.After we had to do word problems and solve how to do the word problems.


Reading

LI.To build vocabulary and expression.
For reading we had to recap what we did in the past few weeks.

My play was are we bored yet and mayhem on mars. 
The most thing I enjoyed about the play was acting out characters from the play.
The most difficult from the play was to remember your lines.
The thing I would change in the future will be my expression and my acting.
I thing that I could work better on my oral language.

This week we tested our rocket straws.There were 3 rockets we made on had 4 fins,2 fins and 1 fin.For the 4 fin rocket straw our highest distance was 5.35.The 4 fin rocket straw was our best rocket.The 2 fin rocket's highest distance was 4 cm and 19 cm.The 1 fin rockets highest distance was 4.25.The 4 fin's rocket average was 4.46333333333.The 2 fin rocket average was 3.09666666667
and the 1 fin rockets average was 3.84.



Volume

LI.To calculate the volume of objects by measuring water displacement
We were measuring volume by dropping wooden shapes like,prism's,squares and many other shapes.
First we had to fill the measuring cup up to the right amount of water. After we had to measure how far the block went.


 

Writing

How Is chocolate made?


Have you ever wondered how people made chocolate?

1.Cocoa Trees
Cocoa trees are commonly known to be in countries that are near equators.
The pods are harvested and cut open with a saw or machete.The cocoa trees are
left out to ferment and dry out in the light.

2.Cocoa Beans
The cocoa beans get scooped out then they get cleaned and roasted.
When roasting the higher temperatures make the chocolate
more bitter.

3.Winnowing
The nibs and shells on the beans are removed with a mill,in a process called winnowing.



4.Cocoa mass
The nibs and shells are then soil to produce cocoa mass.Sugar is added and the mixture is kneaded to the dough.

5.Conching & Tempering
Sets of sweeps which looks like shells, mix and heat the chocolate.

6.Moulding & Packaging
Next the liquid chocolate is left to harden the moulds or used in cookies cakes and many other things.when the chocolate is made it gets delivered to shopping malls and many others.

We had to make a explanation for how to make chocolate. We had to write our own sentences for the explanation.After we made a cycle for the chocolate.

Formal language is when you talk nicely to the teacher and other people.
Informal is when you talk to your friends and other people but sometime's you say "bro" or other ways you talk to your friends.








Reading



For reading we had to make a flip grid and we had to describe your character for reading.
Then we had to tell information about the character and sound like the character.
My character was a martian I had to sound like a alien and tell where I live and who I live with on mars.

LI.To develop body movement of Balance,strength and rotation  

Stretches - L shape,seal,butterfly,cat stretch straddle back/front/side support.

Rotation 1 -
The beam we had to start at the stage and walk forwards intill we reach the middle.When you reach the middle you do a tiny jump on the beam then you walk to the end.
At the box we had to do a cartwheel over the box intill you reach the end 
At the bench we had to do a Ford roll from one end to the other.

Rotation 2 - 
The trampoline we had to run and jump on the trampoline and land on the blue mat doing a Starfish shape then do a ford roll.
For the backwards roll we had to sit on the beam and roll down till the end then stand up. 
For the 1 kg/Scorpion handstand we had to put one foot up in the air and do a handstand we also had to do 3 hand stands. 
For the 180 jump we had to run then jump on a bouncy broad then turn around 180 and land in a landing shape. 

Rotation - 3
For a handstand we had to put our feet on the wall the lift one foot off at a time for 3 seconds but your hands were on a round circle.
The front support is when you lift your self up on the trolley for 5 seconds   
The Parallel bars is when you lift you self up and tuck your knees up you can also do the L shape and straddle then you do little swings.
The Back/Side/Front Support is when you put your feet on the floor and keep on rotating till you get to the end but the rotation mat moves.

The 1 kg/Scorpion handstand was the most challenging thing in gymnastics today because I kept on bending my knees and then falling on the ground.

Star dome

LI.To Learn about space 
At star dome we were learning about space.
We were given pictures and we had to find out what was wrong with the pictures and what will happen if they stayed like that in real life.Then we done a quiz in our group.

We went and watched the planetarium screen up on the roof about all the planets and what planets what wild weathers.

Maori

LI.To learn about Te reo
For Maori we watched a legend of Taine and how there was 3 baskets and what was in it.
All of Taine's brothers didn't like the dark so they made a vote all of the brothers accept Taine voted.
So when the mother and father was split Taine wanted light, he was given 3 baskets.In the first one there was stars in the second one there was a moon in the last one there was a sun. Taine went out in a waka he went to put up the stars we was so happy we done a haka and he kicked the basket over full of stars he left it like that so he put the moon up there still was no light so he put the sun up and there was light.
We also had to make a poster for the juniors about patupaiarehe.

Activity: 
Using skipping ropes, balance a ball by working together.Once it was balanced preform simple tasking wall to window.Without dropping the ball.

LI.To finish your basic facts boxes 
Toady I had to time how long its takes me to to finish all my basic facts boxes up to 10.
My time was 3:49 seconds.The challenge was to beat the teachers time the teachers time was 3:32 seconds.

LI.To read for 15 minutes
For SSR I read a super car book that tells you how fast and how much horse power it has.
My favorite car is a Porsche spyder 911 its top speed is 310 kmph its horse power is 450.
0-100 kmph is 4.0 seconds.This Porsche brand is a racing brand.The fastest sports car is the Bugatti veryon. Did you know that the fastest car out of all is electric cars.

Forces

LI.What is a force an how can we harness/use it?
Today for inquiry we had to  make a google slide about Isaac Newton.
We also had to write about Air resistance,gravitational force,action force reaction force and what they are about.Air resistance is when you throw something in the air and it comes back down.
Gravitational force is when you jump there is a Gravitational force pulling you back down.
Action force is when you do something like push a wall.The action is pushing that wall or standing on grass. Reaction force so it's a fight the guy on the left punched the person on the right the reaction is after the punch is that his head hurts.  






Groups and place value

LI.To learn subtraction using place value
Today we were learning to subtract using place value.We had to solve the questions and take photos for proof .The first photo was the number the second photo was the conversion photo the third photo was the answer photo.
The tool I used to learn this skill was by using objects to solve the answer.





   

Cause & effects

LI.What is a cause & effect

Today we made a Cause & effect.We had to write cause and effect about what happens in LS1.
A cause is like For an example:
Mr Wong and Mr Ogvlive were disappointed in us.
A example for effect:
Mr Wong and Mr Ogvlive were disappointed in us so they made us work in silence.

The patupaiarehe we learnt about today live on mt manganui.

What can be used and what contains an explanation

LI. What is an explanation
For writing we had to write about what an explanation contains and what can be used in a explanation. A explanation contains something to write about.For an example: How a computer works. You need to explain how the computer works and how that part of the computer works.Things that can be used in a explanation can be past third, tense person, passive times and voice connectives.









Kiwi sport - gymnastics

LI.To explore our gymnastics skills

Toady for gymnastics we started off with stretches. 
Your gymnastics teacher was called Steven.
There was:

1.Front/back/side support - the support is when you are in a push up,lay down in the air or put one hand on the floor and stretch one hand in the air. 

2.L shape straddle - a L shape straddle is were you sit on the floor and stretch your legs with out bending them and your arms in the air straight.

3. Butterfly wing stretch - a butterfly wing stretch is when you put your 2 feet together and move your legs up and down.You can even make your legs touch the floor.

4. Tuck shape - a tuck shape is when you put 2 legs together stand them up curl your head between your 2 legs.

5. Seal shape - a seal shape is when your tummy touches the floor and you lift your tummy up with your arms and legs are still touching the ground straight and your head has to look up.

We had 3 stations 
These were the stations:
1. Supports 
2.Balance 
3. Roll/balance  

My favorite part for the support station was the trolley we had to put our hands on the trolley and lift yourself up in the air for 5 seconds.

Te Reo - Maori

LI.To learn the geography of Aotearoa.
Mount Maunganui is a mountain in Tauranga.
The Hunua and Waitakere rangers are mountains in Auckland.
Patupaiarehe are fairies that lived on these mountains in Maori myths.

I learned about the Patupaiarehe and mountains by listening to the 2 story's , The legend of Mauao and the Turehu wars.

I learned where the mountains are by looking on google maps.



Kiwican|T1 Week2

LI.To define what Honesty is.
For our kiwi can session our theme was Integrity and our topic was Honesty.

Our catchphrase was Speak to me truthfully that is called Honesty.

Our activity was role play.In groups we were given a situation about honesty. We needed to act out showing how to be honest.
The 4 situations were 
1 Cheating
2 money/change 
3 wallet  
4 window 

My group done cheating.One of my group members tagged me and I missed and said that I got him.Then I denied that I cheated.Then I tell the truth that I cheated.Then we played fair and square.

LI.To learn part addition and place value 
Today for maths we had to solve these question and prove that there correct.
we had to write the first question on paper so we know how to solve the answer.
There were 3 questions to solve some were really hard.

Reading|Play




LI:To build vocabulary and expression.
What information or skill did you learn? We had to make a play and pick out of six school characters for our school play.In the story there is roles that we had to do for our character.I was school kid number six.My role was to sleep and wake up when the lunch bell rings then say my lines. I learnt this skill from reading the book over and over again.
The tool that I used was Google slides.

LI.To finish 3 tasks
For reading we had to finish 3 projects.The first project had words on the whiteboard and we had to write what we think the definition was and then we had to find what the real definition was.
Then our second task was writing facts about computers back in the days and now.
Then our 3rd task was to make a advert for the first apple computer.
  




















Te reo/Maori

LI.To learn about Te reo

Toady for Te reo we listened to a legend about how Mt Manganaui and Tauragna was separated and formed.We also searched up places on google maps that were related to Tauranga. 

The legend was about people dragging Mt manganui far from land were he couldn't see tauranga. The reason why Mt manganui was dragged away from land because 2 other people fell in love and Mt Manganaui's heart was broken if he stayed on land. So he was dragged out to the ocean with a rope made out of flax and when the sun rised up Mt Manganaui was then stuck there for ever.

I learned about how they made the rope and Mt manganui getting separated and how Tauranga was formed.
