KiwiSport

LI.To learn the basic grip on a Tennis racket. 
For our new Kiwi-sport we were playing Tennis our coach was Peter. 
In Pairs, One person dropped a ball the other tried to catch it. This warmed up our reactions. 
Learning the forehead and backhand technique.  
Ford Head - One hand at the bottom of the racket this is our dominate hand.
Backhand - Two hands of the racket.The Dominate hand stays on the bottom the other hand hold above the bottom hand.

LI.To understand legal use of images
For Cybersmart we were doing smart searching. On websites some pictures might not be free to use but only to look at. If you go on a web site like Flickr: 

For an EXAMPLE: 
You might have a look at a picture to use for your work and your paste it on to your work that is not being SMART. First you should always have a look at the license of the photo. Another way you could know it's not free is by seeing that it is All rights Reversed that means you or anyone else are not allowed to use the photo.

We were learning how to speak Maori. Saying, who is your friend, what is your name, and who are your whanau/family . We then moved onto our task which was completing a bunch of sheets. My activity that I completed was Ko Wai To Hoa.

LI. To learn about respect
For Kiwi Can we were recapping on what we learnt last week on how to respect and treat yourself. For our energizer we were given a leader. Then the leader had to read the paper and remember what the paper said. 
Then the leader told the commands to us and we had to follow the commands.When we were finished we had to sit down.

For commenting I commented on Ayden's blog. He has wrote about Him practicing his recount for his test. 
He went to KFC but described how nice it was and saying he LOVES BUTTER CHICKEN more than KFC!

LI: to revise the structure of a recount reaffirm the marking criteria.
For writing we had to write about a time that you played sports. We also had to use was recount structure TREE/ Witch stands for Title,reveal,events and ending. Then we had to highlight the describing words that you edited.

Bussines


For inquiry we had to make piles for all the company's like home services,TV shows and many other company's. We also made a pile of what company's we did not know. Then we made a google draw to put all the photo's of company's on the google draw then we had to list them.

Basic Facts boxes

For basic facts boxes I done speed demon for multiplication and division.I got no answers wrong and my time was 7 minutes and 44 seconds. My last record/time was 8.59 seconds I have approved on speed demon. 


Novel Studdy

For reading I read a Roald Dahl book called Fantastic Mr.Fox. This book is about a fox who goes hunting for Mrs.fox and the kids.He hunts for dinner each night But, Bunce,Badger,Boggis,and bean get into trouble and blame it on each other. We also made a book mark for your Roald Dahl books.
Our bookmark was to do with reading. We also had to have a good example on why reading can help you.

LI.To Treat other people how they want to be treated

For kiwi can this week for kiwi can we started the day of with a game call vs. 
Someone would call out 2 names that are similar to each other.

For an example:

Baked beans or spaghetti?

We had to chose one side in the room and then explain one by one why you like this more then that. 
You also had to make the person like your topic more than the other topic. 

Then we done an activity on mental riddles and physical sports. 
I was chosen to do the physical sports challenges

The 3 challenges were :

LI: to define & describe the terms enterprise and business
Enterprise meaning online is "a project or undertaking, especially a bold or complex one". Which means to agree on a project or some work. Business's meaning online is "a person's regular occupation, profession or trade". Which means a person's job. We first started on with an activity. We had the word Enterprise. We had to guess what the meaning of Enterprise meant in our groups. We did the same thing with the word Business. We then in our groups had to put in our definitions of Enterprise & Business, and put it aside with the real definition. We then had to get a bunch of business's, local, national, and international. We then had to write down what they sell, and their price range.

Reading

























LI: To build knowledge of vocabulary and links words create to the wider world.
This week for reading we had to build our vocabulary and links words create to the wider world. In our reading groups we had a task to complete two slides of the vocabulary builder and the poetic verse and rap lyric. For the vocabulary builder we had to write the label or the name of the object or word on the DLO it says 'Glasses' so our object is glasses, then we had to write the use of the word/object which in this case is to help us have better vision, after that we had to link the word/object with the association our one is: eyes and glasses because they go together, then we had to write the similarity or difference our one is: they have lenses, finally we add the multiple meaning which is shoes on the power-line. 

Million Dollar Drive/Writing

Million dollar drive
“MUM! I won 1 million dollars of lottery I am going to buy a humongous surprise for Dad,you and me.” I was so anxious and confused on what to buy? 

6 non patient minutes later I approached at the glittery Aston Martin car dealership. The first thing I did was look at The Aston Martin 177 my dream car. When I had blinked at the price tag on the window I felt like God had rained down on me,  “ What 1.87 Million dollars I can’t Buy That. 

So I looked at the DB9 my second favorite car. “ Please don’t say it is the same price as the 177 or higher. I closed my eyes and wished it was not over one million dollars” 1 blink later I opened my eyes and the price was 186,000 dollars I was furious about the price of the 177 so I brought the V12 DB9.  

1 hour later I was confused on what house I should rent online “What house I should rent the dreadful Pent house or the luxurious Apartment with 3 bedrooms now that I said I was going to buy My Mum, Dad and me a surprise im going to buy an apartment with 3 bedrooms . 

After Buying the house online I went to pick up my Mum and Dad.
2 Hangry minutes later I had arrived with Mum and Dad at the luxurious Apartment. There were 2 garages,a deck that could see a view of a lake and a pool with a chair to relax under an enormous umbrella. 

After taking my mum, dad and me for a house tour it felt like I was living in a Million dollar drive.

For writing we had to write a imaginative recount on winning 1 million dollars of lotto for our test.
After we had to read someone else's story and mark there ideas,S&L,Organ,Vocab,Spelling,Punctuation and sentence structure out of 5.
My total was 30.

Maths T4/W1

LI.To learn math methods and skills
For this weeks math's task we had to recap on what we did this week. We had to recap on our adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, calculating area and calculator perimeter, and fractions. For Adding & subtraction we had to recap time and decimals, with time and decimals we had to recap the strategies we used to do time and decimals. The strategies that we used were basic facts, tidy numbers, place value, repeated addition, rounding and compensating, written algorithm and reversing. For multiplication we had to recap on our times tables. For division we had to recap on our grouping/sharing. For fractions we had to recap how to identify a fraction and sets of fractions. I learned by recapping of what we learnt for math's this week. We learnt these skills by doing equations and by playing a game called scattergories.

For Maori we had to watch 2 videos in Maori and them go on google translate and translate them into English put the lines to correct order .

For Kiwi Can our theme this term is respect. You should show respect to other people and family members it is also good to treat them how they want to be treated. If you treat someone bad that means they might think that you want to be treated badly. 

For our energizer we were playing apple,banana and orange. 
The commands were:
Orange = back
banana = 180 turn  
Apple = Forwards 


For our activity we had to tell one truth and a lie. On my turn my lie was I visited Shinjuku in Japan and my truth was I cut the lawns with a lawn mower.
