Similies | Writing

Similes are a comparison of two things using “like” or “as … as”. 

When similes have adjectives people use the word "as". 
For example: 'The man is as smart as Steven Hawking'.

When similes have verbs people use the word "like".  For example: 'He acts like a idiot'.

Similes help compare two things using "like" or  "as...as"
