Hiwi The Kiwi fishing for the future

LI.To be responsible in the sea and when fishing.

What we learned

I learned that you should always take a fishing ruler to measure the fish to see if they are babies or not.If they are babies they have to be gently put back in the sea.If There mum's or dad's you can not take them home, because they have to have there babies.

If your on a boat, kayak or any other boat make sure you have a life jacket on or else you could inquire yourself or drawn.Life jackets help you float so you or anyone doesn't drawn.

On beaches roads and other places it's good to pick up pieces of plastic and other rubbish so it doesn't go into the ocean or other places where it can harm other people and animals.

When you are fishing its good to have a look around for sea birds.Sometimes they hurt there self by eating bait on the line or they don't see the fishing line and get tangled up. So it's good to have a water gun to scare them away.

Salt ice is good when you catch a salt water fish like snappers and other salt water fish. Salt ice makes the fish more fresher to eat when you take it home it also stops it from being yuckier.

Wet towels are good for fish so it stops the oil that comes off them it doesn't leave fingerprints on the fish.If some of the oil comes off they can get sick and pass away.
So it's good to use a wet towel so its stops all the oil from coming off.

What we did

We had to listen to the minstrel so he could tell us information about the fish and why there is a lot dying in the sea. After we sang songs that he wrote and did challenges. We also answered questions.
