Vector art | Johnny Sexton

Vector art was the second activity that I done. To create these images it uses lines, curves, and polygons to create the image. When people create this art is doesn't looks the focus/quality of the image, if people zoom in.

In this activity iv'e created my hero, Johnny sexton. He inspires me because he’s very talented and a good role model for his team mates and younger people who look up to him. He inspires me because he is hardworking and fights for his team and respect. One day I hope to have a professional rugby career for Crusaders and represent and capitain my own country.

Design A Character

This week the task set for me was to design your favourite anime or manga character.

I chose Goku becuase Dragon Ball Z is the first ever anime I watched and one of the main characters was Goku. Goku is my favourite character because he’s too arrogant and cocky towards his opponents. I also like him about the classic fights he’s had like Goku vs Vegeta and also the match against Majunior (Piccolo).

Mindfulness

LI: Removing the negativity from your mind

This week LS2 focused on mindfulness. Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling right now.Mindfulness is about focusing on the present and leaving the past behind.LS2 than sat in circle facing the opposite direction of everyone and loosen their stomach, hands on our knees and focused by breathing in and out slowly so our body and mind can relax. As the bell rang each one us breathed in and out while our mind was slowly approaching the green zone.As I body was relax our mind was wandering in calm position.Mindfulness helps our mind proceed towards the green zone so we can slowly escape from the red zone.Something I found interesting

Everyone goes into the red zone which is negative emotions. To change the red zone into green zone, we used the mindfulness bell to change the mood into calm and relaxed.

I noticed that my breathing was calm and engaged to the bell.

Sumarising

For reading, we have been focusing on summarising text information such as stories, articles and other texts. The text we used for this reading task was the traditional Maori story of how the world came to be. This text was about Papatuanuku and Ranginui waking up from eternal darkness in earth's first light, and Tane Mahuta (one of their children) separating them to grant his siblings and himself freedom from the darkness. Tawhirimatea was angry at the separation of his parents.

For this task, we found exactly twenty keywords to build an understanding of the text about. Keywords help us understand more in a short amount of time. Then from those twenty words, we chose six of those words to create a summary on. A summary is a short and brief description of the story so that we can understand the text in fewer words.

I enjoyed this task and found it easy because I am familiar with summarising and understanding texts using the key reading comprehension strategies so I can expand my knowledge of a story.

Dialouge | Writing

LI. To understand how to use and correctly punctuate dialogue when writing.

This week for our writing class we have we recapped what a dialogue text is about, and how to use it.

This is our DLO we have worked on to reflect our understanding of the purpose of dialogue in writing.

An example of how to use dialogue is:

“Are you new here?” questioned Mahdi.

“Yes, I am new here, can you please take me to room 7?”  replied James

“Sorry I’m actually new here. I was about to ask you if you wanted to be my friend,” awkwardly said Mahdi.

Something I found interesting about dialogue is that theres more different ways to write instead of saying said.

Then we measured the temperature of the cold water and recorded it on the whiteboard.

Next we measured 10 grams of sugar by putting the sugar into a petri dish and then measured it with a scale.

We poured the sugar into the water timed how long it took to dissolve the sugar.

We used the same steps again but with hot water.

I enjoyed this activity becuase we got to use diffrent equipment that I have never used before.

Cold water results:

Temperature: 21’c

Time it took to dissolve:
